Pixel Dungeon may not be a gamer’s delight amidst the high graphics games like Dungeon Hunter or Dead Space but the gameplay will keep you glued throughout. This game will set you apart from your quotidian routines as it takes you back to the age of pixel art graphics. The classic 8-bit, Pixel Dungeon is playable across several mobile platforms and it’s actually possible to play it on Windows PC via BlueStack.
About The Game
Remember those 8-bit TV video games like Contra, Mario and so on, Pixel Dungeon will surely bring those sweet memories back. The genre of this game is rogue-like, a sub category of RPG, you need to play it with a Spartan spirit where you fall and rise again, and hit them harder. Yeah, dying is an integral part of this game but you will be surprised to see a totally different level when you restart it again. Most of the games these days are being developed with a fixed set of levels and enemies but here, it’s completely different and unique as none of the levels are repeated when you replay it.
The Gameplay Wins It!
The graphics is not superior, neither was it meant to be. But certain games have so amazing gameplay that you simply cannot stay without playing it. And Pixel Dungeon is one such game. The horizontal and vertical movements are very much similar to the conventional games. Basically it’s your journey to and through the dungeon to get the magical Amulet of Yendor. You have to be very careful as there might be vicious monster lurking around somewhere in the corner.
You can choose between any of the four characters- Warrior, Mage, Rogue and the recent addition- Huntress. Each character has their unique strengths and weaknesses. The warrior has a sword and it has the maximum strength. On the contrary the mage offers a plethora of magical powers as you proceed. The rogue on the other hand uses missile weapons. You need food to survive in the dark world of the dungeon. The rogue can last longer than the others in low ration situations. The huntress starts with a dagger and can equip missiles. Their ability to detect hidden enemies can be used as an added advantage.
